Against Public Smoking ? - Tell your Friends !

So you've already registered as a supporter of the Smokeless Society, and signed the government ePetition - that's great. Thank you very much.

Remember that the Nicotine Industry has the law completely on its side regarding electronic cigarettes. They are unregulated. There are no age restrictions on their purchase. Electronic cigarettes can be marketed and displayed freely and are not subject to the smokefree law introduced in 2007. Remember that the Nicotine Industry has been freely developing these devices, and they are now becoming widely available in the UK and have already been banned completely in some countries.

Remember that the Nicotine Industry has huge amounts of money available to swamp the UK with marketing and promotion of these devices.

If you are a parent of a child or young person ask yourself how you would feel if your child came home and insisted on their right to smoke an electronic cigarette indoors, in your house. Imagine the arguments that might ensue as a result of your child having been brainwashed by the Nicotine Industry's hugely seductive and misleading marketing of its electronic cigarettes !

Thank you for registering as a supporter and signing the government ePetition, but imagine how much more effective it would be if you passed on details of the Smokeless Society and this campaign to, say, 10 friends. And each of those passed on the details to 10 of their friends, and so on and so forth...

So please don't keep the good news about this campaign by supporters of the Smokeless Society to yourself.

Pass on the news to your friends, relatives, and fellow parents that you know. Let your colleagues know in your workplace. Encourage your friends and colleagues to register and sign the ePetition. Encourage sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, grandmothers and grandfathers to register with the Smokeless Society and sign the ePetition.

Pass on the details of this website, so that your friends, and people who know you, can also support the Smokelesss Society.

For example, you could send a 'round robin' email to all the people in your email address book - asking people to help and also to pass on the message to their friends. Click here for an idea for some sample text for such a 'round robin' email.

Raise general awareness of the potentially huge problem that is looming on the horizon - for everyone in The Smokeless Society - because currently non-smokers have absolutely no idea what the Nicotine Industry, and their nicotine dependent consumers are up to.

For example, you could add a link to the homepage of this website in the signature of the emails that you send, or any forum posts that you make on-line. In that way you don't need to actively promote the Smokeless Society - but curious recipients of your posts or emails may follow the link and find this website and sign up and support the Smokeless Society.

Or if your child attends a youth group or sports club of some kind (e.g. beavers, cubs, scouts, brownies, guides, football club, dance club, hockey club, table tennis, athletics, gymnastics, swimming, badminton, sunday school etc.) let the other parents know. Let your child's teachers know. Let the parents of your child's friends know. Let the people in your church know. This problem affects everyone. So let everyone know.

Always remember that in the Smokeless Society we appear to be continually under threat from the Nicotine Industry and the vast marketing budget that it has to entice and brainwash your child, and their friends, into a lifetime nicotine addiction, with the devastating consequences that can result.

I'm sure you get the picture. Hopefully, as the campaign gets under way, various public awareness materials, such as posters, will be prepared. These posters will be made available to all supporters of The Smokeless Society and its electronic cigarette campaign. These posters may be made available through download, for pinning on workplace and sports centre notice boards.

"I don't accept that smokers are addicted to tobacco. I think they have a habit... I believe the majority of smokers  could stop tomorrow - no, today - if they really wanted to."

Dr. Sandy Macara,
Chairman,
British Medical Association, 1996
.

"The nicotine inhalation habit induces a psychological dependency habit similar to that of a 43 year old teenager still living at home with mum and dad...

Smokers / vapers are addicted to nicotine inhalation about as much as someone might be addicted to living at home with mum and dad   - where life is made too easy for them to even think of moving out."
